Hello, welcome to my Now page! In case you’re not sure what that is, it’s like a mini update on my life and activities, revealing a snapshot view of what I am doing, where my soul is situated, and what my focus is right now.

πŸŒ»πŸ‚πŸŒΌ Late summer review πŸŒΌπŸ‚πŸŒ»

I am in a resting, reflecting, disconnecting season, where deeper restoration and healing can take place, as I’m on a prolonged break for my soul and heath’s sake.

My support system includes the following practices: switching off from social media, savouring books and blogs for pleasure, centering prayer, resting, relaxing, and incorporating contemplative reading into my daily routine.

These inspiring blogs are aiding me in my journey toward embracing minimalism and living with increased mindfulness:

About pausing and planning

This is a period of pausing from sharing on social media or on the blogs. Normally I write here on a fortnightly basis, and weekly over at my poetryjoy.com blog. My plan, hope and prayer is to be fit enough to return to my regular writing routines by the end of September.

Even if a writer halts her thoughts in the public sphere, it doesn’t mean that she has ceased writing altogether. Creative expression continues at a slower pace these days, as I pen new poetry and write out my thoughts for future blog posts. I’ve been posting a bit on my Facebook page and sharing poetry snippets here.

The fruit of this necessary time of pulling back to recoup more energy and strength is already being seen in enhancing my real life relationships, and feeling less fraught and stressed, even if I’m not energised yet.

My wardrobe is also being slowly culled, although I’m not quite ready to embrace the inspiring capsule wardrobe collection system of Project 333 as yet. But I do admire its inspiring precepts! Maybe one day I can more readily dress with less… πŸ˜‰πŸ‘–πŸ‘•πŸ‘—πŸ‘

Here’s what I’m NOT doing

  • Letting myself sink into discouragement about my slow, slow paced days and how long it’s taking me to recover sufficient energy and strength to resume my usual activities. 🐒
  • Making any comparisons with my lack of activity and how much other bloggers and writers can achieve, because it is such a joy and peace stealer.
  • Wasting precious time and energy worrying about jazzing up my websites even if I ache for difference sometimes. Or adding any intrusive pop-ups or ads, largely because I dislike them myself and feel they detract from the reading experience.
